Join us for an exploration of all things nature and wildlife with Naturalist Mark Carra! Our morning will start in the Richard’s Complex with a presentation by Curator Tom Draves. Then we will head outside to explore: while the Arboretum is primarily an educational institution of planted woody species, it is also a biodiverse habitat for wildlife. Walk with Mark and learn about ecological succession, the mycorrhizal web, symbiotic relationships in nature, and more! Mark has over 30 years of experience as a Naturalist, teaching people of all ages about the natural world, living species and their interactions, and the environments they inhabit. This walk will include inclines and uneven terrain; come prepared with proper footwear, and a walking stick, if needed.
Attendees are welcome to stay after the program and explore the Arboretum for the remainder of the day.
