Join Curator Tom Draves and Social Media Manager Bonnie Guckin for an educational class on identifying trees in the winter! This introductory class will begin with an indoor presentation to introduce you to a few methods for ID in winter: recognizing silhouette, branching structure, bark, bud morphology and other clues to proper identification when some of our biggest clues- the leaves and flowers- are missing. After the presentation, we will go outside to employ these new skills in the Arboretum. Attendees are invited to stay for the remainder of the day and explore! Hot chocolate will be provided to warm up before the walk.
Cost is $15 for non-members, $13 for members. This is an event class so free passes cannot be used. Space is limited and social distancing guidelines must be followed while in the building and on the guided walk.
